Leicester to demand at least £60m for Chelsea transfer target Ben Chilwell, talkSPORT understands
Chelsea will have to pay at least £60million to land Leicester star Ben Chilwell, talkSPORT understands.
The Blues, who will shell out £53m on striker Timo Werner, have been long-term admirers of the England left-back, who is thought to be open to the idea of moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Leicester held out for an £80m world record fee for a defender when they sold Harry Maguire to Manchester United last summer.
They also allowed Riyad Mahrez to join Man City for £60m in 2018.
And Chilwell, whose Leicester contract runs until 2024, could be the next big-money player to leave the King Power Stadium.
The 23-year-old has made 118 appearances since making his Leicester debut in October 2015.
Chilwell has been a regular fixture in Brendan Rodgers’ side this season, making 28 appearances in all competitions so far.
Leicester were third in the table, five points clear of fourth-placed Chelsea, when coronavirus suspended top-flight football in March.
Chilwell will be hoping to secure Champions League football for Leicester when the season restarts on June 17.
He has won 11 England caps and looked set to be his country’s first-choice left-back at Euro 2020 before coronavirus forced UEFA to postpone the tournament for a year.
