Eddie Hearn has ripped into Deontay Wilder as he appears to be relishing the American’s defeat.
Tyson Fury shocked the world by flooring the ‘Bronze Bomber’ in rounds three and five on Saturday night before forcing his corner to throw in the towel during the seventh.
Anthony Joshua’s promoter Hearn has been involved in a bitter war of words over negotiations to make an undisputed clash with the American over the past three years.
He reacted to the result by telling Sky Sports News: “Talk about uncharacteristically quiet? Deontay Wilder’s been uncharacteristically quiet.
“He hasn’t even said a word since, he didn’t even go to the press conference, in fact, his soul might still be at the MGM Grand Arena.
“Who knows whether we’ll even see him again?”
Despite expecting Wilder to invoke his clause for a third fight with Fury later this summer, Hearn insists Joshua vs Fury will come to fruition.
He continued: “I promise you this fight will happen. If we have to fight [Kubrat] Pulev, we’ve got to beat Pulev.
“And if he has to fight Wilder, he’s got to beat Wilder again. Both of those things will happen.
“Fury will beat Wilder again and Joshua will knock Pulev clean out, despite Bob Arum telling us very differently.
“You will get this fight. We will do everything that it takes to make this fight.”
